LGBTQI therapy spans supporting clients coming out, helping clients transitioning, and supporting families process the loss of an idea of who someone is. My philosophy on supporting coming out and transitioning is that the client sets the pace--always. I am here to support, to guide, but never to push.
I have completed the coursework for WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) certification and am a national presenter on transgender issues. Many of the issues that impact trans people also impact the greater LGBTQI population, often for the very same reason: the judgment and shaming around not behaving in stereotypically gender conforming ways.
I live full-time as a trans woman who doesn't pass as cisgender, with my same-sex wife. Due to a naturally occurring genetic variation, I am medically intersex.
